Billy is an undergraduate at King’s College London, with a particular interest in glaciology. This interest first came about as a child when he used to read illustrated atlases, sparking a passion for learning about the Arctic and Antarctic.

At university, his dissertation focuses on how we can model the effects of shadows on glacier surface mass balance. Billy also completed the King’s Undergraduate Research Fellowship (KURF) where he helped code a model to study regional- to-global change in glacier mass balance. 

Outside of university, Billy is the first undergraduate to serve on the Royal Geographical Society (RGS) Climate Change Research Group Steering Committee.
