I am a first-year PhD student in Glaciology and Geophysics at Swansea University. My primary research focuses on understanding the impact of surface melt processes on ice sheets and glaciers, and how they influence glacier dynamics, local water resources, and sea level rise in a warming climate. Most recently, I have been monitoring meltwater flow, by measuring naturally occurring changes in voltage, in the basin of an ice-marginal lake on the Juneau Icefield.

I am originally from New Zealand, where I completed a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Canterbury. My master’s degree involved the design, development, and testing of novel drilling equipment to collect Antarctic ice cores for studying ice dynamics.

I am passionate about working at the interface between engineering and environmental science, as well as creating training opportunities for others to do so too.
