Background:

I am a PhD student at the British Antarctic Survey and University of Cambridge, researching the interactions between the carbon and silicon cycles of the Southern Ocean, investigating settings including in the vicinity of giant icebergs, and in moored sediment traps. I have a BSc in Environmental Sciences and an MSc in Climate Change from the University of East Anglia, where my research focus was examining the ability of a global earth system model to resolve the biogeochemistry of the polar regions.

I have been involved with EDI since starting university, and since joining BAS have been more focused on EDI in polar science. I am passionate about increasing accessibility of fieldwork for those historically underrepresented, and try and use my experience wherever possible to demistify some of the lesser-known aspects of working at sea.

In my spare time, I am a keen scuba diver, and also enjoy hiking, reading, and relaxing with my cat.
