Background:

Lena is a PhD student at the University of Sheffield. Her thesis focuses on arctic greening patterns and the feedback these vegetation patterns have on climate change through changes in ecosystem function, with a particular focus on soil carbon. This involves lots of fieldwork, lab work and some remote sensing techniques. She is interested in global change ecology, carbon cycling and biogeochemistry. Previously Lena worked in a soil biogeochemistry lab contributing to soil research in forested and agricultural settings.
