Millie Goddard-Dwyer

Millie Goddard-Dwyer is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies in Tasmania, Australia, researching the impact of climate change on phytoplankton and Antarctic krill’s role in biogeochemical cycles (in particular carbon and trace metals). She completed her PhD on the distribution, cycling pathways, and biogeochemical function of marine humic substances – organic molecules which influence the cycling and bioavailability of trace metals.

She is fascinated by the complexity of interactions between biology and biogeochemical cycles, especially in the Southern Ocean. She is a passionate EDI advocate, being a member of the Challenger Society for Marine Science EDI committee and the IMAS EDI committee.
