Joe’s work focuses on biological feedbacks in the changing Arctic ice and snow. He is a postdoctoral researcher on the NERC Black and Bloom project and manages several additional projects including the Greenland ice caving project “Inside the Glaciers” and the low-cost sensor development project “Into the UV”. He was awarded a Rolex Award for Enterprise in 2016, featured on the San Miguel Alternative Rich List and became a World Frontiers Forum Global Pioneer in 2018 and is the Founder of Polar science communication organization, “Ice Alive” (www.icealive.org).
