Presenter Information
Technological requirements
Please ensure your internet connection is as stable and strong as you can for the session (e.g. use a wired connection or WiFi over a mobile connection, preferably with 10 Mbps download speed). You will need a computer running Windows, Mac OS, or Linux and either Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
Talk details

Submission: Please submit your presentation as a PDF at least 24 hours before the conference using this form https://forms.gle/3MvUNbeGymVmuHoZ9.

Platform: Gather Town. If you have not used Gather before, feel free to check out this live demo: https://gather.town/app/p4B9DUqB8NAazd3t/DemoConference. We will make Gather Town available in advance and add posters as they come in, so you can practice if you like.
Submission: Please submit your poster as both an image file and a PDF at least 24 hours before the conference using this form https://forms.gle/tjDv1QMAfVFNvbne9
Schedule: The poster sessions are at 12:20 pm and 12:30 pm on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. Geology, glaciology and oceanography posters are on the Wednesday 5th, and ecosystems, atmosphere, climate and social sciences are on Thursday 6th. The schedule can be found here.
Rapid-fire poster introductions
Prior to the virtual poster session, there will be an opportunity to advertise your poster and present the main points in a short “elevator pitch”. This is optional, but we highly encourage it as it draws in interest and gives you a chance to talk.
Format: 1-2 minute introduction to your poster. One PDF file or PowerPoint slide that is of a summary, a preview of your poster, or just the most relevant figure. Preferred 16:9 ratio with large text.
Platform: Zoom. The session chair will show the slides and will show a slide of your name before you slide, then unmute you to introduce your poster.
Submission: Via the poster submission form (above). This needs to be done at least 24 hours before the conference.
Schedule: These sessions will run just before the poster sessions, with presenters ordered alphabetically by surname. Geology, glaciology and oceanography posters are on the Wednesday 5th, and ecosystems, atmosphere, climate and social sciences are on Thursday 6th. For the schedule, see here.
Accessibility
To improve accessibility to our event, we are advising all presenters to follow these guidelines. As mentioned above, we will also require your presentation as a PDF. Presentations will then be available to view (but not download) on Sharepoint during the conference.
Programme and networking
Before the conference, you will receive a full programme for PolarECC. This will contain workshop speaker biographies, abstracts and a participant list with contact details and social media handles. We hope this participant list will act as a network for you to use in the future. If you would like to be named on this list, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/kQNc98NktWV6LG4W9.
Data and privacy restrictions
We appreciate that some data is unpublished, embargoed, or just not yet ready to be seen by the outside world. If you do not want anyone to photograph or share specifics of your slides, please include either of the icons below on each relevant slide.
