Background:

Chloe Nunn has a B.Sc. in oceanography and an M.S.c in sustainability, both from the University of Southampton in England. Her research interests range from deep-sea ecology to community resilience, and she is hoping to pursue a Ph.D., which will allow her to work within communities on marine and sustainability science issues. Nunn was awarded a National Geographic Early Career Grant to fund her master’s dissertation fieldwork in Uummannaq, Greenland, where she researched social-ecological system resilience to local disruptions. She is passionate about science communication and educational outreach and is enjoying learning more about storytelling through the lens rather than just on paper. Her writing was recently published in the January 2020 issue of the children’s magazine Muse. Nunn’s other interests include travelling, experiencing new cultures, outdoor and water-based activities, living sustainably, and naturally, being cold at the poles!
