Background:

My name is Despina and I am an energetic and passionate graduate of the University of Macedonia (Greece) and the Queen Mary University of London (UK), holding a Bachelor’s degree in International and European Studies and a Master’s in International Relations.

My field of interest focuses on security issues in the High North and the Arctic policies of both Arctic and non-Arctic states. After a long period of researching and analysing the challenges and opportunities in that region, my long-term goal is to be able to represent the “Arctic voices” with dignity and promote security, multilateral cooperation and environmental awareness. Therefore, I aim to deepen my knowledge as regards the Arctic and the Antarctic and preserve the biodiversity of these exceptional regions.
