Eleanor Jones
Member-At-Large, 2016 – 2017
PhD Candidate, University of Sheffield
My undergraduate degree was Environmental Geoscience at the University of Bristol. As part of this, I spent a year studying at the University of Oslo and the University Centre in Svalbard. My time in Norway sparked my interest in polar environments, and led to a project in the Bristol Glaciology Centre, investigating gases generated by subglacial abrasion. I recently moved to Sheffield to begin a PhD in biogas release from thawing permafrost in Svalbard.
