Antarctic Flags
On my way down south in 2017 I was asked if I could take an additional load of flags. I was a bit confused, but when I saw the drawings done by children and heard about the project, how excited they were to have their own pictures taken to Antarctica it all made sense!
I’m therefore super excited to be a part of the team this year helping to organise this amazing opportunity!
Current research:
My background is in geophysics from Imperial College but I’m now based at the University of Leeds for my PhD. I am using my geophysical knowledge to model firn in glaciers, using a technique known as full waveform inversion (FWI). This will be able to provide us with detailed knowledge of the firm’s properties without having to drill into it!
