Erica is a third year undergraduate integrated masters student studying Biological Sciences at Durham University. Her study is ecology-focussed, with a recent polar research interest in the niche partitioning of penguins. Alongside her studies she has recently been part of a project with the British Antarctic Survey, generating check counts of penguin populations on South Georgia from aerial drone images. She also spent the summer at the British Antarctic Survey as a research experience placement student investigating the morpho-plasticity of the benthic Antarctic and Sub-Antarctic bivalve Propeleda longicaudata. Outside of university she is an avid climber and kayaker, spending as much time outside as possible.
