Background:
I am currently Head of Geography at Kingsthorpe College in Northamptonshire, and have been part of the UKPN Outreach team since 2020. I have a keen interest in the Polar regions and have been lucky enough to visit Longyearbyen, Svalbard, something which my students love to hear about!
I have been teaching for ten years now, and throughout that time the inclusion of the Polar regions have been incredibly important in our curriculum. This year our students are studying glaciation, the importance of Antarctica, the impacts of climate change on the cryosphere and the flora and fauna that can be found in the Polar regions.
