Background:

Do Antarctic bacteria have a favourite season?

Bacteria are small but significant. I am a first year PhD student with the British Antarctic Survey and the University of Plymouth looking into bacteria that live in the bodies of Antarctic marine invertebrates and how their composition changes between summer and winter. I graduated with an MSc in Applied Bioscience at Anglia Ruskin University in May 2021. During this time, I explored antimicrobial resistance in Antarctica and this experience sparked my interest in the Polar Sciences.
